Hoops defender confident he can convince Low

Celtic defender Andreas Hinkel is refusing to give up on his World Cup dream, despite being omitted from Germany's squad for this month's friendlies against Chile and Ivory Coast. The 27-year-old, who has won 19 caps for his country, has failed to ever establish himself under current incumbent Joachim Low. Low became Germany manager after the 2006 World Cup finals and has only used Hinkel sparingly since. However, the Hoops stopper is refusing to be downbeat, as he told Celtic View: "I would love to be a part of the squad. "I wasn't picked for the two games this week and that's a disappointment, but we will wait and see what happens. "The World Cup is eight months away. A lot can happen between then and now. "The coach has not chosen his final squad, so there is still time. I want to do my best for Celtic and help the team win trophies. "Hopefully, that can help me get a place in the World Cup squad."
