Defender ready to fight for place after ankle recovery
Lyon defender Jean-Alain Boumsong is nearing a comeback after almost three months on the sidelines.
The former Rangers and Juventus defender has only featured twice for the French side this term after struggling with first a groin strain before picking up an ankle knock.
The 29-year-old now has his sights on winning back his place in the Lyon side before targeting a place in Raymond Domenech's France squad for South Africa next summer.
Boumsong told
skysports.com: "It is great to be back playing after an ankle injury like that in three months you sometimes doubt yourself to come at a very good level, the level you were at before.
"However, it is great to be with your mates training and knowing you have a chance over the weekend.
"I feel fine and ready to defend for my team. Hopefully there won't be anymore problems, till June, then I can force my way back into the France team as well."
