Defender set to train on Thursday
Wolves manager Mick McCarthy is hoping defender Ronald Zubar will be fit to play Birmingham at the weekend.
The 24-year-old former Marseille star missed the 4-0 defeat to Chelsea on Saturday with a thigh injury, but is set to return for the Molineux clash against the Blues.
Zubar has only made four Premier League appearances since his move in the summer, and he put through his own net in the game against Arsenal earlier in the month.
However, McCarthy is optimistic that he is ready for a return to the first team.
"I think Ronald will train tomorrow, which will be good and a boost to us," he told the
Birmingham Mail.
"It's just a slight thigh strain, so we're hoping he'll be fine."
Striker Chris Iwelumo is also on the verge of a return to training having damaged his foot in the draw at Stoke City.
The Scotland international has only played in two league games so far this season, but McCarthy is hopeful he will also be returning to action soon.
"He's hoping he might train this week so we'll just have to see," he added.
"It would be a boost. We might decide to keep him back though."
Wolves currently sit second bottom of the Premier League and have not won since they beat Fulham in September.
