Cottagers boss set to stay on

Roy Hodgson has confirmed he has verbally agreed to remain at Fulham beyond the end of the season. The Cottagers boss' contract had been due to expire in the summer, sparking concerns he could leave for pastures new. However, on the back of Wednesday's fine 3-0 success over Blackburn, Hodgson has allayed fans' fears. The ex-Finland boss has agreed a deal with owner Mohamed Al Fayed and insists the talks were easy and straightforward. Hodgson has reiterated his happiness with the West Londoners and is now looking forward to putting pen-to-paper on his deal.

Easy talks

"It wasn't a difficult discussion," Hodgson told the Evening Standard. "We are basically in agreement and I've got to say it was very easy to come to that agreement. "It seems that everyone is keen for me to stay and I've always made it perfectly clear that I'm happy to stay. "I've never made any secret of the fact that I'm happy at Fulham and I'm enjoying the job here. "It is just a matter now of putting the contract discussions that we have already had onto paper."
