Lee Trundle has yet to be told whether Swansea want to keep him permanently once his loan spell expires.
Trundle returned to the Welsh club on loan over the summer but is due to go back to parent club Bristol City in the New Year.
He is anxious to earn a longer deal with the Swans but has failed to nail down a starting place in Paulo Souza's side so far this season and is not sure of the club's intentions.
"When the lads are doing what they are doing then I can't really complain (about being left out)," Trundle told
skysports.com.
"I think they are unbeaten in 11 now and when you are on that sort of run changes to the side don't happen very often.
"I've just got get myself ready for when I get the chance to come off the bench and have an impact on the game.
"It is a little frustrating not to be starting games, but at the same time I'm happy that the team are winning, so it's bittersweet for me."
Trundle expects his future to be resolved in the near future and is hopeful he will be offered something.
"I've not heard anything from the club yet about taking me on permanently, but we will probably speak towards the end of the month about it and see what is happening.
"Obviously, I'm hoping the answer is yes because I am really enjoying it back here and hopefully I can earn either an extended loan deal or a permanent stay."
