Teenage sensation Romelu Lukaku will not consider leaving Anderlecht until he turns 18 according to the player's father.
The 16-year-old, dubbed the 'new Didier Drogba', has hit the headlines ever since making his senior debut for the Belgian side at the end of last season.
The striker, who stands at 6ft 2in and weighs 14 stone, has improved further this term scoring eight goals in 14 games, leading to a host of top European clubs expressing an interest.
Chelsea have already reportedly had a €10million bid turned down while Arsenal, Manchester United, AC Milan and Barcelona are all said to be monitoring the situation.
However Lukaku, who signed a five-year contract on his 16th birthday, has been advised by his father to remain in Belgium until he finishes school.
"Other clubs can make as many offers as they want, my son is going to finish school," Roger Lukaku told the
Daily Mail.
"That's another 18 months. I'm going mad with all these managers calling me about my son. I tell them, 'it makes no sense. He's going nowhere'."
Despite having to juggle exams and football Lukaku senior insists: "It's no problem, he's in a routine."
Realistic
Despite the statement of intent from his father Anderlecht manager Ariel Jacobs, who still makes Lukaku change away from the first-team, is perhaps more realistic and admitted that the front-man could be sold in the near future.
"It's maybe not realistic, but the thought is realistic," Jacobs stated.
"It's not just about pleasing everyone and in a world where everything goes so quickly, maybe too quickly on some occasions, it's a proper way to think."
Jacobs also denied that he had received any formal bids for the player: "Me no, but at club level there have been several requests. I think it's quite normal.
"All the clubs around the world want strikers and even if he is 16, he has scored eight goals."
