Tonbridge Angels defender Gavin Dayes has signed as a non-contract player for Dagenham.
Defender joins League Two side on non-contract basis
Gavin Dayes has signed on non-contract basis with Dagenham & Redbridge and will serve as cover for John Still's side until the new year.
Contrary to some reports, Dayes has not left Tonbridge Angels, but has signed Football League papers enabling him to play for both the Ryman Premier Division club and the Daggers.
Because no contract was signed with Dagenham, the defender is not owned by either club, so effectively has a pay-as-you-play deal with both teams.
Dayes has previously enjoyed spells with Fisher Athletic, Grays Athletic and Welling United before playing for Tonbridge.
It is unlikely Dagenham will sign the 24-year-old on a permanent basis, as he has only been drafted in to help with Still's injury problems.
