Bayern playmaker set to sit out derby date
Franck Ribery will sit out Bayern Munich's derby date with Nurnberg on Saturday with a foot injury.
The 26-year-old playmaker only returned to the first-team fold a fortnight ago, after a four-month stint on the sidelines.
Niggling knocks have plagued his time at Allianz Arena over recent years, disappointingly for Bayern who regard the Frenchman as their most potent attacking weapon.
Ribery's latest knock, picked up in Wednesday's 2-1 win over Fiorentina in the UEFA Champions League, is not believed to be serious and he is being rested purely as a precaution.
"It's a preventative measure," said Bayern boss Louis van Gaal.
"It's better that he doesn't play but he could feature in the game against Hamburg."
Bayern, who sit second in the Bundesliga table, face Hamburg on 28th February.
