Preston boss believes side "should have won" at Ricoh Arena
Preston North End boss Darren Ferguson admitted he was rueing what might have been after his side drew 1-1 with Coventry at the Ricoh Arena.
North End skipper Callum Davidson cancelled out Freddy Eastwood's opener from the penalty spor as Coventry's winless run extended to eight games.
But Ferguson believes his side should have snatched all three points after dominating the second period.
Preston boss Darren Ferguson said: "I felt it was a game we should have won but we didn't, and that makes it a disappointing result.
"Performance wise I am pleased and there were positives. We have gone to a new system in the last couple of games and they have taken to it well.
Tired
"We could have scored at one end and then got caught on the counter-attack which is disappointing, but Jon Parkin then got the penalty (for Davidson's goal).
"I wasn't concerned when the referee went over to the linesman. He had given it quite quickly and I think he just went to check it was in the area. And you always fancy Callum from 12 yards."
Coventry boss Chris Coleman knows he has to add to his squad in the summer after they ran out of steam in the last month for a second year in a row.
He said: "We huffed and puffed. We have a much of a muchness in terms of the team. We lack pace and we are looking tired.
"We are lacking confidence and we are finding it hard to get in behind teams. We had a good go in terms of effort but we look a bit shaky at the back because we are lacking confidence.
"If we were on our game then we wouldn't have let Jon Parkin get through us for their goal but we didn't defend it properly.
"But it was a penalty all day long, no question."
