Ankaragucu loan deal leaves French midfielder refreshed
Midfielder Jerome Rothen is ready to resume his Paris Saint-Germain career after a season out on-loan.
The former France international began last season at Rangers but the Ibrox club cut short the loan deal after Rothen failed to live up to their expectations.
In January, the 32-year-old teamed up with former England international Darius Vassell at Turkish club Ankaragucu for the remainder of the campaign.
Rothen found life in Turkey much more easy going and he admits the club he knew little of have rehabilitated him and he will rejoin his PSG teammates in July for pre-season training.
"Indeed, six months ago, I didn't even know of Ankaragucu," admitted Rothen to French newspaper
L'Equipe.
Reinforcements
"But those five months in Turkey were good to me. I will be present at PSG (training) resumption on July 1st.
"PSG is my club. We parted for one season because I was mentally worn out. Officials didn't say they don't rely on me any more.
"I've just had a phone call from the man in charge of reinforcements to ask me what I want to do. I want to help PSG."
However, Rothen is aware that his future with his beloved club is out of his own hands and has called for a speedy decision on the matter.
He added: "I could have opportunities, but I am here so far. We will see if the club doesn't want me, but they'll have to tell me."
