Defender returns for second spell
Newly-appointed St Mirren boss Danny Lennon has made David van Zanten his first signing.
The 28-year-old defender returns to the SPL outfit for a second spell, having previously spent five years with the club before joining Hibernian in 2008.
He was released by Hibs in January and took in a short spell at Hamilton Academical upon becoming a free agent.
Dublin-born Van Zanten made six appearances for Billy Reid's men in the second half of the 2009/10 campaign.
He has now jumped at the chance to return to St Mirren, after again finding himself out of contract, and has penned a two-year deal.
Meanwhile, Lennon has informed defender Chris Innes and midfielder Stephen O'Donnell that they will have to find new clubs.
The pair are currently out of contract and will not be offered fresh terms.
