Former United striker refuses to rule out Premier League return

Diego Forlan would be willing to consider a return to the Premier League should a suitable bid be lodged. The Uruguay international spent three years with Manchester United between 2001 and 2004, before going on to take in successful spells with Villarreal and Atletico Madrid. His time in England was largely forgettable, as he struggled for goals and a regular role, but he has become one of Europe's top marksmen since moving to Spain. Now 31 years old, he has the experience, both domestically and internationally, to have another crack at the English top flight.

Happy

Various clubs have been linked with moves in the past and Forlan has admitted that he is prepared to listen to offers. He insists he has no desire to leave Atletico, where he has spent the last four years, but appreciates that a big-money approach could be enough to force through a sale. "I have two years left on my contract at Atletico Madrid and I am really happy there, but you never know in football," Forlan told Sky Sports following Uruguay's 3-2 friendly victory over Republic of Ireland on Tuesday. "If there was a nice offer, for the team and for me, then you have to see. You have to see if it is good enough."
