The scout reports...

Next on the agenda is the man hoping to fire Spain to the European Under-21 title, striker Adrian Lopez. Adrian is currently with Deportivo La Coruna, but after their relegation from La Liga he is set to join Atletico Madrid. He has wasted little time in showing his talent in Denmark, scoring both goals in their 2-0 win over Czech Republic. But just how good is Adrian? Will he make the step up to the senior squad? Quite possibly. He is an excellent finisher, although his goals to game ratio is nowhere near what it should be. He has a physical presence and holds the ball up well, meaning much of Spain's play goes through him, and he thrives on that responsibility. Adrian began his career at Real Oviedo and broke into the first team before being spotted by Deportivo, who snapped him up on a professional contract in 2006. He continued to progress at La Riazor, but was sent out on loan to Alaves and Malaga to gain first-team experience. He returned to Deportivo in 2009 and was used prominently across the front-line, showing he was adept at different roles. Even before his move back to Deportivo, Adrian was recognised as a player of real potential by Spain's national coaches and has progressed through every youth squad and into the Under-21s. Last season was a real breakthrough year for Adrian starting 31 games and scoring eight goals in a relatively poor side, showing he can cut it at the highest level.

The scout says...

A real prospect who has already earned a move to Atletico Madrid and will be one to watch in coming season. Could very well finish the European Championship as top scorer.
