A-League starlet set for Germany move

Australian youngster Mustafa Amini has agreed terms on a four-year deal with Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund, according to his agent. The Central Coast Mariners midfielder impressed Dortmund's coaching staff during a trial in March, and the German club has been chasing him ever since. The A-League club reportedly turned down an offer of 135,000 Australian dollars (£88,000) for the 18-year-old in April, but are considering a revised bid thought to be in the region of 340,000 Australian dollars (£221,000). Amini's representative, Buddy Farah, says an agreement has been reached with Dortmund, with only the transfer fee left to be decided.

Agreement

"Mustafa has a pre-agreement with Dortmund over a four-year contract subject to the clubs agreeing a transfer fee," Farah told German website Bild. "The sooner it's resolved the better for all concerned. If the clubs decide for him to be loaned back that could be a good thing for him, especially from a learning point of view." If a deal materialises, Amini is expected to spend the 2011-12 season playing for his old club on loan in order to gain more first-team experience. Amini said: "(Dortmund coach Jurgen) Klopp told me that it was better for me if I play another year in Australia, so I can prepare myself quietly for the Under-20s World Cup in Colombia and the 2012 Olympics in London. "When I trialled at the club, coach Klopp treated me like a full team player and told me that I had convinced him with the way I played."
