Israeli on German club's radar

Kaiserslautern general manager Stefan Kuntz remains hopeful of signing Israel international striker Itay Schechter. The 24-year-old is contracted with Israeli side Hapoel Tel Aviv until 2014, but has been heavily linked with a £1.3million move to the Fritz-Walter-Stadion this summer. Kuntz says Kaiserslautern are still in negotiations with Tel Aviv over the forward. "We are interested in the player, we are still keen on Itay Schechter," he told spox.com. "We are negotiating a deal. However, we are making slow progress. "I am still optimistic we can find a solution, but we have to be careful."

Interest

Kaiserslautern have also been linked with a move for striker Aristide Bance, who is contracted with Dubai-based outfit Al-Ahli until 2014. Bance, a former Mainz player, is thought to be keen to return to the Bundesliga. But Mainz general manager Christian Heidel has ruled out the 26-year-old making a return to the club. He said: "Aristide Bance will not be rejoining our club. This will not happen."
