Samba star hoping impressive run in front of goal will continue
Manchester United's Brazilian midfielder Anderson has set himself a 10-goal target this season.
The Samba star took 78 appearances to break his scoring duck for United, and found the target only once more in the next 17 months.
He has, however, found his shooting boots this season and a header in Saturday's 2-0 victory over Norwich was his fifth goal in 11 outings.
Anderson is now looking to build on that fine form and break into double figures for the first time in his Old Trafford career.
"One particular aim is to score at least 10 goals," he said.
"I am going to try my very best to score more."
Contribution
With Paul Scholes having hung up his boots over the summer, United were looking for someone to step up and fill the goal-scoring midfielder void.
Anderson appears capable of assuming that responsibility, with consistency having been added to his game this term.
"You can say it is my best start because I have never played five or six games consecutively at the beginning of the season," he added.
"It's been great to stay in the side and help make a big contribution.
"I feel like this is my time now. I have trained well, looked after myself and the boss has given me a chance. It is important that I take it and show everyone why I am here."
