Tony Pulis took plenty of heart from Stoke's performance against Tottenham, despite watching his side concede a 93rd-minute equaliser at White Hart Lane.
Cameron Jerome looked to have secured a first ever double for Stoke over the North London club, but Rafael Van der Vaart snatched a point for Harry Redknapp's men.
However, the Potters manager insisted that he couldn't blame his side for their lack of effort over the 90 minutes and was happy to take a point from the game in the end.
He told
Sky Sports: "Spurs are a top, top team and we defended at times very, very well tonight. But with a couple of minutes to go, you think that the gods are with you and you're going to get the result.
"We were really concerned about how the weekend game (FA Cup quarter-final defeat at Liverpool) would have on us, but to put in a performance like they did today was very, very good."
Smashing
When asked how pleased he was with Potters' goalscorer Jerome, who played most of the game down the right-hand side, he added: "Matty (Matthew Etherington) was out injured, so we asked Cammy (Jerome) to do that job tonight and he did smashing.
"But, like I said, we created chances and I thought it was a good open entertaining game and we're just disappointed not to have picked up the three points.
"It's very difficult to have a go at the players (for conceding a stoppage time goal) when you come here and defend like we did and do a lot of good things, it's very difficult to have a go at them."
