Marcelo Bielsa early favourite to be the next Barcelona with Pep Guardiola expected to leave Nou Camp.
Betting on next Barca boss opens with Guardiola expected to leave
Sky Bet make Marcelo Bielsa and Luis Enrique the early favourites in their
next Barcelona manager betting following the news that Pep Guardiola intends to leave the club at the end of the season.
The development comes on the back of their surprise Champions League exit at the hands of Chelsea, while the Catalan club also saw their La Liga title hopes all but ended with a defeat to Real Madrid at the weekend.
Guardiola's future had already been in doubt with his contract set to expire at the end of the season and is thought to have confirmed his intention to leave the Camp Nou in a meeting on Thursday afternoon.
Wide open
Athletic Bilbao manager Marcelo Bielsa currently heads the betting at
9/4 with Roma boss Luis Enrique, who spent the majority of his career at Barca, only a slightly longer price at
7/2.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is available at
8/1 in a wide-open market, closely followed by Barca's assistant coach Tito Vilanova
12/1, while Ajax boss Frank de Boer is the same price to take the reins at his former club.
Sky Bet Football Trader Stephen Parkes said: "Giving the surprising timing of the news there's little information pointing to any specific candidate, leaving us with no clear frontrunner in the market.
"However, Barca's success of late has all come with a loyalty to an ethos of continuation and development, so we're expecting their next boss to have significant links with the club."
