QPR boss determined to dash the title dreams of former employers
Mark Hughes insists Queens Park Rangers are capable of springing a surprise against Manchester City, becoming the first side to win at the Etihad Stadium this season in the process.
A final day encounter in Manchester on Sunday will have plenty riding on it, at both ends of the table.
QPR boss Hughes takes his struggling side to face his former employers with their top-flight status still hanging in the balance.
Facing them will be a buoyant City side that are closing in on the Premier League title and know victory on home soil will be enough to see them take the crown.
Hughes appreciates that QPR face an unenviable task, but he does not believe that a trip to the blue half of Manchester is an impossible mission.
Expectation
"We haven't covered ourselves in glory this year on the road, but what better time to turn it around?" Hughes said.
"There will be a huge amount of expectation on the game with them going for the title, but we'll give it our best shot.
"It's unbelievable what this league throws up time and again, but it's in our hands and that's all we can ask for.
"Obviously results elsewhere could help us out, but we want to go and make it happen ourselves.
"My focus is totally on what we do - I get the feeling we'll be a lot better than we were at Chelsea last week."
