Wycombe's experienced summer signing Matt Spring insists that he did not snub former employers Leyton Orient before joining the League Two outfit.
The 32-year-old spent two years at Brisbane Road, making 95 appearances, but opted to sign a two-year deal with the Chairboys this summer.
The box-to-box midfielder claims that he was left with no choice but to leave the O's following a breakdown in communication.
"I wasn't really offered anything at Orient, or at least I'm not 100 per cent sure whether they did or not because no one actually came to me and offered me a contract," Spring told
Sky Sports.
"Someone did mention something to my agent, but I simply couldn't get hold of anyone at Orient and no-one would return my calls, so in the end that made my mind up to go and look elsewhere."
Wycombe are rebuilding after last season's relegation from League One and although Spring hasn't featured in the fourth tier since 2004, he is relishing the challenge ahead.

"It is looking good now, with the takeover completed and the gaffer able to bring in new players," he said.
"The manager was hopeful behind-the-scenes of getting things resolved with the transfer embargo, so he managed to get players lined up for when the time came that they were able to sign.
"I've played one season in League Two for Luton before, but that was many moons ago.
"As long as the team play in the right way then I don't feel that we've got anything to fear in this division.
"From what I've seen in training since I arrived here we are quite capable of getting the ball down and passing it, which would suit me down to the ground."
