'Who will fill the boots of Robin van Persie?' That's the million dollar question for Arsenal and Sky Sports Fantasy Football bosses alike ahead of the new season. Strikers Lukas Podolski (£8.5m) and Olivier Giroud (£8.7m) have been added to the ranks by Arsene Wenger, but only the most optimistic Gunners will foresee either replicating Van Persie's haul of 30 goals last season, which saw him rack up a remarkable 310 points. Podolski netted 19 times in Bundesliga last term, while Giroud led Montpellier to their first ever Ligue 1 title with 21 goals, but it may well another new face at the Emirates who offers value for Fantasy managers. Santi Cazorla costs a mere £6.7m and has an eye for goal, scoring nine times for Malaga last season, with set-piece duties likely to be heading his way if Van Persie departs. Wenger's backline struggles to appeal after conceding 32 times on the road last season, with Thomas Vermaelen (£7.6m) the most appeal with his knack for netting, scoring six times last term. Top pick: Santi Cazorla Aston Villa Penalty taker: Darren Bent, free-kicks: Charles N'Zogbia Likely line-up: Given; Warnock, Hutton, Vlaar, Dunne; Holman, N'Zogbia, Ireland, Bannan; Agbonlahor, Bent One name leaps off the page to seasoned Fantasy Football bosses when presented with Aston Villa's squad list: Darren Bent (£8.1m). The 28-year-old is one of the most consistently prolific poachers in the Premier League, but concerns arise around the service on offer at Villa Park. Goals were at an absolute premium last term, with Villa netting less than a goal a game. New boy Charles N'Zogbia (£5.7m), who enjoyed a superb previous season at Wigan, was one those who failed to produce the goods, while Gabriel Agbonlahor (£8m) went 22 goals without a goal after netting his sixth of the season in November. Villa's backline was the key to them avoiding the drop, with Stephen Warnock (£5.6m) notching up 79 points thanks to eight clean sheets along with a couple of goals and assists. Top pick: Darren Bent Chelsea Penalty taker: Frank Lampard, free-kicks: Juan Mata Likely line-up: Cech; Cole, Terry, Cahill, Ivanovic; Ramires, Mikel, Lampard, E Hazard, Mata; Torres. A busy summer in the transfer market presents Fantasy bosses will some new faces to contemplate including in their line-ups. While Didier Drogba departed for China, attacking midfielders Eden Hazard (£7.7m), Marko Marin (£6.3m) and Oscar (£5.8m) have all joined the ranks. The former offers the greatest appeal after netting 20 times and contributing 18 assists last term for Lille, a repeat performance would see the Belgium international rack up 200+ points. Juan Mata (£8.9m) and Frank Lampard (£8.4m) were both in decent form last term, with 150 and 138 points respectively but are priced up accordingly. Fernando Torres will need to up his tally from a meagre six goals following Drogba's exit, but Fantasy price setters expect him to do so with a tag of £9.5m. Top pick: Eden Hazard Everton Penalty taker: Leighton Baines, free-kicks: Leighton Baines Likely line-up: Howard; Baines, Heitinga, Jagielka, Hibbert; Fellaini, Gibson, Coleman, Osman, Pienaar; Jelavic Sky Sports Fantasy Football bosses will be drawn in by two stand-out names from Everton's squad list, with Leighton Baines and Nikica Jelavic holding real appeal. Baines is a perennial favourite with his set-piece ability notching up goals, nine in total over the last two seasons, earning a place in 16 per cent of backlines already. Jelavic, meanwhile, was new to the Premier League last term as he arrived from Rangers in January but adapted impressively, netting nine times from just 10 starts. With the Toffees quiet in the transfer window few others catch the eye, although re-signed Steven Pienaar (£6m) interests after netting four times and claiming seven assists during his loan spell back at Goodison. Top pick: Nikica Jelavic Fulham Penalty taker: Clint Dempsey, free-kicks: Clint Dempsey Likely line-up: Schwarzer; Senderos, Hangeland, J A Riise, Hughes; Sidwell, Diarra, Dembele, Dempsey; Ruiz, Petric Clint Dempsey gathered a loyal following of both Fantasy and Premier League managers last season as he racked up an impressive 17 goals. The American was the highest scoring midfielder in the game with 200 points, over twice as many as any of his team-mates. Hugo Rodellega (£6.7m) and Mladen Petric (£6.8) have both been signed this summer but can hardly be described as prolific frontmen. For those looking for a bargain, Brede Hangeland has had his price reduced to £5.8m after failing to score during the 2011/12 campaign but netted six times in 2010/11. Top-pick: Clint Dempsey Liverpool Penalty taker: Steven Gerrard, free-kicks: Luis Suarez Likely line-up: Reina; Johnson, Agger, Skrtel, Enrique; Lucas, Adam, Downing, Gerrard; Suarez, Bellamy The disappointments of last season have prompted lower price tags for the majority to the Liverpool squad, but Luis Suarez remains one of the game's most expensive and popular players. The Uruguayan is priced up at £9.5m after racking up 155 points last season, a tally which would have surely been much higher had it not been for his eight-match ban. Stewart Downing is one of the main fallers in the transfer market, with his price dropping from £8.6m to a meagre £5m after picking up just 63 points. Fabio Borini (£7.7m) was Brendan Rodgers' first major signing and the former Swansea boss but has hardly been prolific during his fledgling career. Top-pick: Luis Suarez Manchester City Penalty taker: Carlos Tevez, free-kick taker: Carlos Tevez Likely line-up: Hart; Richards, Kompany, Lescott, Clichy; Barry, Toure, Silva, Nasri; Aguero, Tevez The main conundrum with Manchester City last season was which two players to pick, but with limitations removed only budgetary restrictions stop bosses from naming the same side as Roberto Mancini. Sergio Aguero (£9.9m) was City's top scorer with 240 points, followed by David Silva (£9m and 170 points), Vincent Kompany (£8m and 144 points) and Joe Hart (£6m and 135 points). Aguero looks worthy of his hefty valuation as Sky Bet's favourite to be the Premier League's top goalscorer. That price tag is deterring few as the Argentinian is the joint most popular player in the game alongside Hart. Top-pick: Sergio Aguero Manchester United Penalty taker: Wayne Rooney, free-kick taker: Robin van Persie Likely line-up: De Gea; Evra, Vidic, Ferdinand, Jones; Carrick, Kagawa, Young, Nani; Rooney, Van Persie Wayne Rooney (£9.8m) will once again be attracting the hordes of Sky Sports Fantasy Football bosses, while new boy Shinji Kagawa (£7.6m) is also likely to tempt. Rooney was the game's second highest scorer last term with 241 points, largely courtesy of 27 goals, and is the third most popular player with a place in over 30 per cent of sides. Kagawa caught Sir Alex Ferguson's eye with another impressive campaign at Borussia Dortmund, scoring 13 times and claiming nine assists, earning a place in 13 per cent of teams already. Top-pick: Wayne Rooney Newcastle Penalty taker: Papiss Cisse, free-kicks: Yohan Cabaye Likely-line up: Krul; Simpson, Santon, Coloccini, Taylor; Tiote, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Gutierrez, Ba, Cisse Papiss Cisse and Demba Ba's valuations have rocketed since last season but Fantasy bosses are only interested in one of the Senegal frontmen. Cisse (£9.3m) scored a remarkable 13 goals in as many games joining the Magpies in January, but his arrival coincided with a fall in form for team-mate Ba (£9m), who netted just once alongside his international team-mate. Yohan Cabaye (£8.5) and Jonas Gutierrez (£7.4m) have also been priced up accordingly after both clearing the 100-point mark. The Magpies also impressed at the back with Tim Krul (£5.5m) keeping 15 clean sheets and collecting 110 points, a tally only bettered by one other goalkeeper, Joe Hart. Top pick: Papiss CisseNorwich Set-piece taker: Grant Holt Likely line-up: Ruddy; Martin, Bennett, Turner, Tierney; Johnson, Surman, Howson, Snodgrass, Pilkington; Holt The Canaries were one of the Premier League's surprise packages last season, largely due to the impressive form of Grant Holt. The 31-year-old is, however, struggling to attract interest for the upcoming season, with a mere one per cent splashing out the £8.7m necessary to secure his services. Summer signing Robert Snodgrass (£6.3m) carries superb Fantasy form up from the Championship, having scored 13 and assisted 14 goals for Leeds last term, while their backline offers little appeal after conceding the joint most goals of those not relegated. Top pick: Robert Snodgrass QPR Set-piece taker: Adel Taarabt Likely line-up: Green; Fabio, Onuoha, Ferdinand, Traore; Mackie, Diakite, Taarabt, J.S.Park, Hoilett; Cisse The Hoops have been on a spending spree since arriving in the Premier League, but it takes a shrewd Fantasy boss to work out which signings are worth splashing cash on. Junior Hoilett manage to pick up 141 points last season despite being part of Blackburn's sinking ship, while Park Ji-Sung, who should get more playing time after being largely bench-ridden at Old Trafford, costs a mere £4.8m. The Hoops' backline hardly looks bullet proof, but attacking full-back Fabio could prove a bargain at a meagre £4.3m. Top pick: Junior Hoilett Reading Set-piece taker: Ian Harte Federici; Pearce, Gorkiss, Harte, Gunter; MaAnuff, Leigertwood, Karacan, Kebe; Pogrebnyak, Le Fondre While the collective effort from Reading's all-contributing squad was impressive last season, it also makes it difficult to pick out key players. Adam Le Fondre (£6.5m) was their top scorer with just 12 goals, hardly the sort of tally likely to tempt Fantasy bosses scrambling for his services, while midfielder Jimmy Kebe (£4.6m) contributed the most assists with 10 but netted just three times. Pavel Pogrebnyak (£7.2m) has joined the ranks over the summer after impressing during his loan spell at Fulham, scoring six times in his 12 appearances, although form teetered off towards the end of the season. However, the Royals backline is definitely worth a look at after keeping a league-high 20 clean sheets en route to their title triumph, with goalkeeper Adam Federici (£4m) and centre-back Alex Pearce (£4.2m), netted five times last term, value picks. Top pick: Alex Pearce Southampton Set-piece taker: Rickie Lambert Likely line-up: Davis; Hooiveld, Fonte, Clyne, Fox; Lallana, Cork, Schneiderlin, Do Prado; Lambert, Sharpe. Rickie Lambert (£6.8m) is the obvious pick for Fantasy bosses desperate to discover the new Grant Holt after topping the Championship scoring charts last season. The 30-year-old not only netted 27 times last time but was also responsible for 13 assists. With Lambert netting nine times from the spot, his strike partner Billy Sharpe (£5.8m) was just as prolific from open play, scoring 19 times including one penalty. Sharpe may struggle to retain his starting berth however, with fellow frontman Jay Rodriguez (£5.5m), who netted 15 times for Burnley last season, added to the ranks. Adam Lallana (£4.9m) starred for the Saints in the middle of the park last season, scoring 11 times during the campaign, while Guly Do Prado (£4.7m) found the net 10 times. At the back, Danny Fox (£3.7m) looks a shrewd pick having contributed 10 assists from left-back in a defence which kept an impressive 18 clean sheets. Top pick: Rickie Lambert Stoke Set-piece taker: Jonathan Walters Likely line-up: Begovic; Huth, Shawcross, Upson, Wilson,; Etherington, Whitehead, Whelan, Pennant; Walters, Crouch Stoke may not be the most free-scoring of sides, but their threat from set-pieces offers some interesting options from their backline. Ryan Shawcross picked up 92 points last season with nine clean sheets and a couple of goals, while Robert Huth (£5.5m) netted three times but scored 72 points. Peter Crouch (£8.8m) was Stoke's top performer with 150 points thanks to 10 goals, four assists and five man-of-the-match awards, while Matthew Etherington (£6.8m) notched up 113 points with seven assists to his name. Top pick: Ryan Shawcross Sunderland Set-piece taker: Sebastian Larsson Likely line-up: Mignolet; O'Shea, Richardson, Brown, Bardsley; Gardner, Cattermole, Colback, McClean, Sessegnon; Campbell Midfield duo Stephane Sessegnon and Sebastian Larsson were in the minority as they enjoyed fine campaigns amid an uninspiring campaign for the Black Cats. Sessegnon racked up an impressive 153 points with seven goals, nine assists and five man-of-the-match awards playing just behind a lone striker, while Larsson's three goals from set-pieces helped him net seven times and rack up 100 points. Having scored the least amount of goals last season, it is hard to see appeal in any of their attacking options, while average total of 11 clean sheets makes their backlines pretty undesirable. Top pick: Stephane Sessegnon Swansea Set-piece taker: Scott Sinclair Likely line-up: Vorm; Rangel, Williams, Taylor, Chico; Allen, Britton, Michu, Sinclair, Dyer; Graham Swansea provided some of the bargains of last season but offer less appeal with prices adjusted accordingly. The likes of Scott Sinclair and Ashley Williams comfortably clocked up over the points apiece despite being valued at around the £5m mark, but have had their prices cranked up to £7m and £6.9m respectively. Their backline was the key to their success with Michel Vorm keeping 14 clean sheets - the Dutch stopper remains a relatively cheap at £5.2m. New boy Jonathan de Guzman could prove a bargain at £4.7m, while fellow new boy Michu (£5.5m) has an eye for goal having netting 15 times for Rayo Vallecano in La Liga last season. Top pick: Michel Vorm Tottenham Set-piece taker: Rafael van der Vaart Likely line-up: Friedel; Walker, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Assou-Ekotto; Parker, Huddlestone, Bale, Van der Vaart, Sigurdsson, Defoe Tottenham's season may have ended in disappointment but they still boasted some of Fantasy Football's star performers. Gareth Bale (£8.8m) was the second highest scoring midfielder with 180 points while Kyle Walker's breakthrough campaign saw him notch up 126, a tally on bettered by two other defenders. Emmanuel Adebayor (£8.6m) was actually Tottenham's top point scorer with 195, so whoever replaces him at the spear of Spurs attack looks worth backing to bag big points. Spurs have signed Gylfi Sigurdsson (£7.3m), who picked up a remarkable 102 points from just 17 starts for Swansea and Jan Vertonghen (£7.2m), who could also prove to be a hit after netting eight times for Ajax last season. Top pick: Gareth Bale West Brom Set-piece taker: Chris Brunt Likely line-up: Foster; McAuley, Olsson, Jones, Ridgewell; Brunt, Mulumbu, El Ghanassy, Morrison, Long, Odemwingie The Baggies benefitted from two strikers that bagging 100+ points each - Peter Odemwingie (£8.0m) and Shane Long (£7.7m) - and Sky Fantasy Football mangers may be looking at one of these cheaper options to help balance the books. New boy El Ghanassy (£4.7m) contributed five goals and 12 assists from midfield for Gent last term, while his ability to play as a striker could make him a valuable contributor. The Baggies were mediocre at the back last season with none of their backline clearing the 100-point mark, while James Morrison (£6.4m) was their top scoring midfielder with 102 points. Top pick: Peter Odemwingie West Ham Set-piece taker: Mark Noble Likely line-up: Jaaskelainen; Tomkins, Reid, Demel, O'Brien; Noble, Collison, Taylor, Nolan; Cole, Vaz Te The Hammers' return to the top flight reunites Fantasy bosses with a perennial favourite Kevin Nolan (£4.9m). The attacking midfielder hit double figures for a third successive season last term with 13 goals. Mark Noble (£4.7m) was also pretty prolific from the middle of that park last season with eight goals to his name, although all but one were from the spot. While Carlon Cole (£6.7m) was West Ham's top scorer with 14 goals last season, Ricardo Vaz Te (£6.2m) was the league's second highest with his contributions for Barnsley and then the Hammers seeing him rack up 20 in total. At the other end of the pitch, Sam Allardyce's men were the least stringent of those to get promoted, conceding over a goal a game. Top pick: Kevin Nolan Wigan Set-piece taker: Gomez Likely line-up: Al Habsi; Alcaraz, Boyce, Figueroa, Caldwell; McArthur, Gomez, Watson, McCarthy, Moses; Di Santo. While Wigan boasted a member of the end-of-season dream team in Victor Moses (£6.9m), they largely struggle to tempt. Moses' impressive points haul of 160 was largely down to the nine man-of-the-match accolades. The Latics' backline is undesirable after conceding 62 goals last season, while their frontline also struggles to appeal with Franco Di Santo their highest scorer with seven goals and 95 points, the club's season highest tally behind Moses.
