Northern Ireland boss Michael O'Neill was full of praise for his players after the 2-0 win over Faroe Islands in Belfast.
Northern Ireland moved two points clear of Group F after making it two wins out of two in their qualifying campaign so far.
O'Neill was delighted with the performance as they dominated the match from the first whistle with first half goals from Gareth McAuley and Kyle Lafferty proving enough for the three points.
"I am delighted with three points, especially with the performance and the intensity of our play," O'Neill told Sky Sports 5. "I knew we could not maintain the intensity through the second half but we saw the game out.
"We have worked hard all week. The emphasis in our training was on getting that intensity, playing high up the pitch and I don't think the scoreline at half-time did us justice, given the quality of our play.
"The fans were fantastic. It is a special atmosphere here and the players certainly responded to it."
The win was the perfect preparation for next week's trip to Greece and O'Neill insists they will go there looking for a positive result.
"We go now in a confident mood to Greece on Tuesday," added O'Neill. "Belief is developing in the squad all the time.
"We don't envisage an easy game at all, but what we will have is a real go."
