Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock was disappointed his side did not take anything from Old Trafford

Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock was disappointed not to earn a point from Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Manchester United.

Palace slipped to their fouth defeat in five games as substitute Juan Mata climbed off the bench to fire the hosts to a 1-0 victory - via a deflection off the head of Damien Delaney.

United dominated possession, but Palace should have opened the scoring in the first half when Frazizer Campbell found himself one-on-one with David De Gea only to lob his effort on to the roof of the net.

"I'm disappointed we didn't come away with something. We had a great opportunity to put them under pressure with the chance that Fraizer [Campbell] had, but it wasn't to be today," said Warnock.

"There was a slight deflection for their goal and Julian [Speroni] will be disappointed, but overall I thought we worked ever so hard and I cannot fault the lads.

"We were more solid. We've been a bit gung-ho the last few games and it was nice to be more solid, but you've got to take your chances.

"We might have had a shout for a penalty before half-time when Luke Shaw pulled by Fraizer [Campbell], but other than that I thought the referee had a good game and I cannot complain for once."

Warnock was content with his side's efforts at Old Trafford, but did bemoan some of his team's decision making.

"I was disappointed with some of our passing today, because we had balls in good areas and could have done more with it. We could have put our widemen and players up front in better positions, but we gave it away. We made bad decisions today and that really helped United get a bit more of the ball," added Warnock.
