Nice's push for the UEFA Champions League took a knock after a 0-0 draw at home to Grenoble.
In a game of few clear-cut chances, both teams did hit the post, but were unable to snatch a winner.
The hosts could have taken the lead after just three minutes, but David Hellebuyck's free-kick came back off the upright.
Grenoble, who have scored just 11 times in Ligue 1 this season, rattled the woodwork six minutes from time when substitute Laurent Macquet almost had a decisive impact moments after coming on.
The result leaves Grenoble in 13th spot, while Nice remain in sixth, having been able to move up to third with a win.
