Billy McKay grabbed two goals as Northampton extended their unbeaten run to 11 games with a 4-0 drubbing of Accrington.
The Cobblers' top scorer Adebayo Akinfenwa netted his 11th goal of the season with a shot on the turn to set the ball rolling after just 10 minutes.
Luke Guttridge and Kevin Thornton both went close with first-half free-kicks, while Michael Symes spurned a chance for the visitors.
But Northampton put themselves firmly in control with two goals in four minutes.
McKay opened his account with a superb curling effort after 57 minutes before latching onto Thornton's cross to net his second from 12 yards soon afterwards as the Cobblers maintained their push for the play-offs.
Guttridge completed the rout with a shot from the edge of the box after 66 minutes before substitute Liam Davis almost piled more misery on Stanley when his deflected effort hit a post.
