Northampton moved back into the League Two play-off places with a comfortable 4-1 victory over struggling Morecambe.
Goals from Paul Anderson and Ryan Watson gave the Cobblers a 2-0 lead at the break before Nicky Adams and Chris Lines struck in the second half to extend their unbeaten home run to nine games as Morecambe dropped to the foot of the table.
The Shrimps started well with David Cornell twice called into early action to deny George Tanner and Cole Stockton, but Northampton moved in front after 28 minutes when Anderson's deep cross deceived Mark Halstead and nestled into the far corner.
Morecambe's wasteful finishing continued to cost them as Toumani Diagouraga missed another good chance and they were punished in first-half stoppage-time when Watson got the deftest of touches to convert Anderson's cross-shot.
Northampton had a third 10 minutes into the second half after Halstead punched Lines' cross out to Adams and he fired home.
The visitors pulled one back just after the hour through Aaron Phillips, who was on hand when Cornell saved from Stockton, but Cobblers secured the points as Lines met Adams' cross with a thumping finish.
