Norwich v Manchester City preview: Willy Caballero to retain starting spot
Sunday 10 January 2016 11:44, UK
Willy Caballero will retain his place in goal for Manchester City's FA Cup third-round tie at Norwich on Saturday.
The former Malaga goalkeeper has been preferred to Joe Hart in domestic knockout competitions this season and will continue in goal after playing in the midweek Capital One Cup semi-final loss at Everton.
Defender Eliaquim Mangala (hamstring) is out, leaving Martin Demichelis and Nicolas Otamendi as the only fit centre-backs in the continued absence of captain Vincent Kompany (calf). Striker Wilfried Bony is also missing with a leg problem.
Matt Jarvis is fit for Norwich but is unlikely to be risked after being out with a knee injury since the Premier League match against City in late October.
New signing Ivo Pinto will not feature but manager Alex Neil has confirmed that he will make changes, with John Ruddy and Steven Whittaker in line for starts.
Both sides have midweek league matches on the horizon, but City boss Manuel Pellegrini is not looking past the FA Cup.
"The priority for my team is to try and win every game, it doesn't matter which competition you are in," said the City boss. "That gives you an ambitious mind and a winning mind."
"We are going to be focused game by game. For the moment we continue with the same squad. I trust in the players - in the first four months we could do it so we can again."
