Notts County went top of League Two and all but confirmed promotion with a 3-1 victory over Lincoln.

Promotion almost confirmed after victory over the Imps

Notts County went top of League Two and all but confirmed automatic promotion after second-half strikes from Graeme Lee and Delroy Facey earned a 3-1 victory over 10-man Lincoln. County are now 12 points and a far superior goal difference clear of fourth-placed Rotherham with just 12 points left to play for. In a full-blooded East Midlands derby, the Magpies took the initiative after just 63 seconds with Lee Hughes driving home Ben Davies' free-kick. However, the hosts' celebrations were short-lived after a sloppy error from Lee allowed Steven Lennon to side-foot home an equaliser three minutes later. The hosts gained a numerical advantage after just 16 minutes when Moses Swaibu saw red for a reckless lunge on Neil Bishop, but held their breath when Davide Somma's curler was tipped wide by Kasper Schmeichel. Burch twice denied Hughes from close range, then tipped over Davies' drive and saw Hughes clip a post after the interval. Yet he was helpless to prevent Lee's diving header from Westcarr's cross after 65 minutes, before Facey rifled in late on.
