Wisla Krakow kept alive their Europa League hopes with a crucial 2-1 win over Odense BK in Group K. The Polish team need to beat Twente in their final Group K match and hope Fulham fail to beat Odense in order to advance. The visitors started brightly and had the first effort inside three minutes when Wisla's Andraz Kirm fired a right-footed shot over the bar from 12 yards. Odense suffered a blow in the 15th minute when defender Daniel Hoegh was forced off through injury to be replaced by Tore Reginiussen. It was perhaps no surprise that the visitors took the lead just a few minutes later as Odense reorganised at the back, with Biton collecting a pass from Lukasz Gargula and firing into the bottom corner from 12 yards. Wisla looked in total command when they extended their lead on the half-hour mark, Malecki making no mistake from just inside the area. And it was almost 3-0 five minutes later when Biton saw his shot tipped round the post by Odense goalkeeper Mads Toppel.

Desired effect

Whatever was said in the home team's dressing room at half-time had the desired effect, with Odense reducing their deficit just five minutes into the second period. Rasmus Falk Jensen fired home from the left-hand side of the area, but lasted only three more minutes on the pitch before being forced off with an injury. Odense went in search of an equaliser but struggled to create any clear-cut chances against a well organised Wisla defence. And it was the visitors who came closest to getting on the scoresheet again when Biton's drive from close range was blocked by Toppel.
