Paris St Germain took another significant step towards their first Ligue 1 title in 19 years as they beat 10-man Nice 3-0.

Paris St Germain took another significant step towards their first Ligue 1 title in 19 years as they comfortably saw off the challenge of 10-man Nice at Parc des Princes. Jeremy Menez opened the scoring after 10 minutes, while a Zlatan Ibrahimovic penalty - awarded following a foul by David Ospina that saw the Nice goalkeeper sent off - and Clement Chantome's late effort completed a one-sided outcome. PSG move onto 70 points, nine clear of nearest challengers Marseille with five games remaining. Carlo Ancelotti's side were quick out of the traps and rattled the Nice woodwork after just five minutes from Ibrahimovic's fierce volley. The lead arrived a short time late when Javier Pastore ran on to Ibrahimovic's pass, arriving just ahead of the onrushing Ospina before flicking the ball across for Menez to score into the unguarded net. Ospina made amends in the 27th minute when he saved well from a Menez volley, while Nice threatened minutes later when Didier Digard's low drive from 20 yards was gathered at the second attempt by Salvatore Sirigu. PSG continued to boss proceedings and their pressure told after 65 minutes when Ospina hauled down Ezequiel Lavezzi in the area and was shown a straight red card and a spot-kick awarded. Ibrahimovic took responsibility for the penalty and confidently dispatched his kick beyond replacement goalkeeper Joris Delle. Delle impressed 10 minutes from the end when he denied Ibrahimovic in a one-on-one situation, but he had no answer in the 88th minute when the dangerous Sweden striker combined well with Blaise Matuidi before crossing for Chantome to turn the ball home.
