Dons maintain gap after London Road draw

Goalkeeper Willy Gueret won a personal battle with Peterborough golden-boy George Boyd to earn MK Dons a priceless point in a goalless derby draw. The French shot-stopper pulled off fine saves to deny Boyd in both halves of the London Road stalemate. Gueret brilliantly tipped the Posh winger's close-range effort to safety just before the break, with Dons captain Dean Lewington on hand to hook the follow-up off the line. Gueret proved a formidable last line of defence once again when Boyd unleashed a 25-yard piledriver that was bound for the top corner 20 minutes from time. He even spared team-mate Jude Stirling's blushes at the death as the defender's header looked set to go into his own net. The visitors rarely created chances of their own due to Peterborough's spoiling tactics. Youngster Sam Baldock tested Posh keeper Joe Lewis with long-range efforts in both halves and defender Gaby Zakuani bravely blocked an Aaron Wilbraham drive in the second period.
