Crawley striker Ollie Palmer headed home a stoppage-time equaliser as his side halted Plymouth's four-match Sky Bet League Two winning streak with a 2-2 draw at Home Park.
Palmer put his side ahead after 27 minutes after Scott Wootton's clearance crashed off fellow central defender Niall Canavan's back.
The ball fell invitingly for Palmer to prod in under goalkeeper Alex Palmer on the goal-line.
At 1-0 Crawley goalkeeper Glenn Morris made a superb stop to keep out Ryan Hardie's angled shot while Antoni Sarcevic's diving header flew wide at the far post.
Sarcevic won and converted a 44th-minute penalty as Plymouth came back from conceding a bizarre opener. He cut in from the left touchline and was fouled on his way to goal by Bez Lubala. The midfielder drilled his spot-kick down the middle.
Canavan cleared off the goal-line early in the second half as Crawley sought to regain the lead.
At the other end, Morris made a spectacular diving save to flap away Sarcevic's goal-bound rising drive.
Substitute striker Luke Jephcott headed Argyle into a 2-1 83rd-minute lead, glancing in Byron Moore's pacey cross from the right.
While Palmer scored his second goal of the game at the death as Jamie Sendles-White headed across goal to seal a late point for the visitors.
