Pilgrims welcome Hornets to Home Park

Plymouth will be hoping to climb out of the drop zone against resurgent Watford at Home Park on Tuesday. Pilgrims boss Paul Sturrock is ready to throw Hungarian defender Krisztian Timar back into his starting line-up. Timar has not started since the 3-1 home defeat by Cardiff on 18th August but is set to deputise for Benin international Reda Johnson, who is a doubt with a knee injury. Argyle have slipped to third from bottom after six league games without a win. Sturrock said: "Reda will be given every chance but it may be too early for him, which is disappointing. "Krisztian obviously comes back into my thoughts. At the end of the day we have got to put a win under our belts and Krisztian should be involved in that."

    Watford news

Watford will check on skipper Jay DeMerit ahead of the trip to the South West. The centre-half missed Saturday's 1-0 win over Barnsley with a groin injury suffered while on international duty with the USA. Rookie defender Dale Bennett, 19, made his first start in DeMerit's place and stands by again while fellow centre-back Adrian Mariappa took the captain's armband. New recruit Craig Cathcart, who agreed a loan switch from Manchester United on Monday, will not link up with the Hornets until after the trip to Home Park. Boss Malky Mackay beefed up his midfield against Barnsley by recalling John Eustace and pushing Arsenal loanee Henri Lansbury alongside Danny Graham in attack. The impressive Graham grabbed his fourth goal of the season to sink the Tykes.
