Steven Gerrard believes Rangers are riding on the crest of a wave as they prepare to face Dundee in the Scottish Premiership.
Having drawn 0-0 with St Johnstone on February 16, Rangers have hit five without reply in consecutive games, against Kilmarnock in the Scottish Cup and on Sunday at Hamilton. They sit eight points behind leaders Celtic, but have a five-point cushion on third-place Aberdeen.
Rangers were frustrated by Dundee the last time they met as they were held to a 1-1 draw on Tayside, despite Dundee playing with 10 men for over 70 minutes.
Gerrard admits he still thinks about that result, but feels the confidence flowing among the Rangers squad.
"The December game with Dundee was very frustrating. It's still a result that to this day doesn't really sit too well for us," he said.
"We huffed and puffed. We had all the ball without any real success in the final third. We also scored a legitimate goal that wasn't given, so it was a frustrating afternoon.
"We'll show Dundee the respect they deserve. We'll expect it to be tough but we're going in with good form and confidence after two 5-0 victories against Killie and Hamilton.
"I'd like to think we're riding the crest of a wave. The reaction from the St Johnstone draw last week has been really positive. The goals and the clean sheets are very nice but I've been more impressed with the hunger and mentality of the group. We've got that wrong at times.
"There is always a danger at times at Rangers that the players can get a bit complacent and think they can just turn up. That can't be the case. We have to show intent and hunger in every game."
Team news
Rangers welcome Alfredo Morelos back from suspension for Wednesday's visit of Dundee but Andy Halliday is set to miss out.
The left-back is struggling with a groin complaint and may have to sit out the Ladbrokes Premiership fixture, alongside new signing Matt Polster. The United States international was set to make his debut at some point against the Dark Blues but also has a groin issue.
Long-term absentees Jamie Murphy and Graham Dorrans (both knee) are continuing their rehab work.
