Montpellier came from behind twice to salvage a point against Rennes.

Souleymane Camara struck a last-minute equaliser as Montpellier twice came from behind to draw 2-2 at Rennes and continue their recent unbeaten run. Montpellier had not lost in six Ligue 1 matches previously as they eased their relegation fears but they looked set for a first defeat since mid-December when Ola Toivonen's second goal of the match saw Rennes leading going into stoppage time. But substitute Camara salvaged a point for the 2012 French champions when he finished off a good team move with a powerful header. That was the second time in the match Montpellier had come from behind, with Daniel Congre's second-half goal cancelling out Toivonen's early opener for the hosts, as they remained one point and one spot above their 15th-placed opponents in the table. Rennes, looking to bounce back from their 3-1 loss at Ajaccio last weekend, started well and Romain Alessandrini curled an early free-kick just over before Toivonen gave them the lead after 10 minutes, Alessandrini released Kamil Grosicki on the right and he found Toivonen at the near post where the Sweden international turned the ball past Geoffrey Jourdren. That proved to be the only goal of the first half but Rennes had chances to increase their lead with Alessandrini testing Jourdren from another free-kick before Foued Kadir saw his left-foot volley crash back off the crossbar just before the interval. Montpellier, whose only real chance of the first period came in the 16th minute when home keeper Benoit Costil blocked Morgan Sanson's volley, survived another big let-off at the start of the second half when Kadir struck the woodwork again. The rebound fell to Alessandrini and his shot was parried away by Jourdren. At that stage there looked only one likely winner - and it was not Montpellier. However, those scares seemed to spark the visitors into life and Costil had to produce a superb reflex save to keep out a Hilton header. Costil was powerless four minutes later though as Montpellier did draw level, the unmarked Congre heading home after being picked out by Siaka Tiene's free-kick. Rolland Courbis' side were level for barely 10 minutes however before Rennes reclaimed their lead when Toivonen picked up a superb pass from Alessandrini and curled his shot past Jourdren. With time running out that looked set to be the match-winning strike, but Montpellier mounted one late bid and following good work by Sanson and Remy Cabella down the right, Camara was on hand to power home a header.
