Billy McKay netted a late winner for Dundee United as they twice came from behind to beat Ross County 3-2 and reach the last four of the Scottish Cup.

The win was all the more remarkable as the visitors were reduced to 10 men just before the hour mark when Mark Durnan was sent off after conceding a penalty.

Although the visitors started strongly, it was County who came close in the 14th minute when Liam Boyce tested United keeper Luis Maria Zwick with a low strike.

And the home side deservedly took the lead in the 24th minute when an Andrew Davies cross was headed home by Boyce.

However, United, bottom of the Scottish Premiership table, levelled matters 12 minutes into the second half through Henri Anier who latched on to Durnan's assist to make it 1-1.

But two minutes later the Tangerines were reduced to 10 men when Durnan was shown a straight red card for a foul on Brian Graham who restored County's lead with a low strike from the penalty spot.
