Rotherham remain in the play-off places despite a goalless draw at home to Cheltenham. Cheltenham came for a point, defended throughout, and got one to ease their plight at the foot of the table. Rotherham did all the attacking in a first half where the visitors pulled eight and even nine men back at every hint of danger. Things could have been different if Adam Le Fondre's overhead kick after only four minutes had counted, but he was clearly offside. And Rotherham should have scored after 20 minutes when Le Fondre chased a backpass causing goalkeeper Scott Brown to miss his clearance. Le Fondre squared the ball to Kevin Ellison, but with Brown completely out of his goal Ellison slipped, only half hit his shot and the ball trickled wide. The visitors rarely crossed the half way line, but when they did Justin Richards headed into the side netting from Shane Duff's long throw after 15 minutes and Michael Pook's shot from the edge of the area was easily saved by Andy Warrington just before the break. Rotherham kept running into Cheltenham's brick wall defence after the break. Ellison shot just over, Pablo Mills had a shot cleared off the line by striker Richards, but Rotherham simply could not break down the visitor's resolute back line. Cheltenham's only shot of the second half, from Medy Elito, was blocked by Ian Sharps.
