Citadin Eder struck twice as Sampdoria claimed their first win of 2014, beating Udinese 3-0 on Monday. In a game which saw three players sent off, including two for the visitors, Eder earned a penalty and converted it in the 16th minute to put the hosts on their way to victory. Udinese suffered a blow in the 35th minute when Allan Loureiro was shown his second yellow card after a late challenge on Eder, who then struck his second early in the second half. Samp's Roberto Soriano was given his marching orders in the 61st minute while Udinese lost their second player in the match when Gabriel Silva picked up his second yellow card eight minutes later. Daniele Gastaldello wrapped all three points for the hosts by scoring his team's third three minutes from time. Samp clinched their fifth win of the campaign and climbed into 12th place. Udinese, meanwhile, dropped to 15th, just four points clear of the drop zone. Samp went into the match on the back of a league defeat at Napoli and a Coppa Italia elimination at the hands of Roma, but they took an early lead after Eder was brought down by Udinese goalkeeper Ivan Kelava in the area and the referee pointed to the spot. Eder converted the chance with a shot towards the far post and out of Kelava's reach. Udinese almost equalised midway through the first half but Maurizio Domizzi headed Antonio Di Natale's cross wide of the far post. Allan was then given his marching orders before the interval. Samp picked up where they left off after the re-start and doubled their lead in the 47th minute. Manolo Gabbiadini fed Eder in the box and his right-footed strike towards the far post beat Kelava. Eder almost scored his third before the hour mark but his powerful effort from the edge of the area was kept out by Kelava. Doriano was then shown his second yellow card after a foul on Domizzi and Gabriel Silva joined him in the tunnel shortly after, with the Udinese player having elbowed Lorenzo De Silvestri to earn his second booking. Eder continued to terrorise the Udinese defence and in the 70th minute his drive from 30 yards went over the bar. Samp made it 3-0 late in the game when Gastaldello nodded Gabbiadini's cross past Kelava.
