Two goals in four second-half minutes saw Colchester come from behind to extend their unbeaten run to six matches in a 2-2 draw at in-form Scunthorpe.
Strikes from Abo Eisa and Kevin Van Veen either side of the break had the Iron well in command, though Luke Norris got the U's back in the game and Luke Prosser completed the comeback.
The home side dominated the opening 45 minutes, with Van Veen, Lee Novak and Alex Gilliead all squandering good openings before Eisa cut inside from the left and found the far corner to give his side a 42nd-minute lead.
Scunthorpe began the second period how they finished the first, with Van Veen stealing into the box to head home Gilliead's cross in the 47th minute.
Colchester did not give up and just before the hour mark Norris kept his cool to chest the ball down in the box and smash home.
Sensing the home side's frustration, they then took the game to the Iron and when Harry Pell headed back across goal, skipper Prosser hammered in at the back post.
In an end-to-end finale, either side could have snatched a winner, with Norris scuffing the best of the chances wide after some hesitant Scunthorpe defending.
