Scunthorpe's promotion hopes suffered another setback as Troy Deeney's late strike earned Walsall a point in a 1-1 draw.
After taking a 79th-minute lead through substitute Kayode Odejayi, the Iron allowed the visitors to snatch an equaliser and then almost grab victory themselves.
In miserable conditions, Arsenal youngster Henri Lansbury had the best shot of a poor first half for Scunthorpe, forcing a good save from goalkeeper Clayton Ince.
It was Walsall who threatened in the second half with striker Deeney unlucky to see a header come back off the underside of the crossbar.
Scunthorpe finally got their noses in front when Odejayi got his head to a free-kick from Grant McCann.
But five minutes later Walsall, unbeaten now in six games, were back on level terms when Deeney produced an excellent finish with a shot from the edge of the box.
