Rafal Boguski netted the decisive goal in the 53rd minute as Poland ended 2008 on a winning note.
Poland, who beat Republic of Ireland 3-2 in a friendly last month, are currently second in World Cup qualifying Group 3.
Serbia are also hopeful of making it through to the 2010 tournament in South Africa as they are top of Group 7, which also includes France and Romania.
