Highlights of the Carabao Cup match between Sheff Wed and Chesterfield.

Sheffield Wednesday came from behind to beat Chesterfield 4-1 and ease into the second round of the Carabao Cup.

Goals from Gary Hooper, Steven Fletcher, Barry Bannan and substitute Sam Hutchinson turned things around for the Owls after Kristian Dennis had opened the scoring from the penalty spot.

Wednesday were on top for the vast majority of the first half, with Chesterfield goalkeeper Joe Anyon forced to make a double save from Fletcher while Hooper fired just over.

Ross Wallace and Bannan also put long-range efforts off-target and Fletcher headed over before the visitors took the lead against the run of play.

When Chris O'Grady challenged for the ball from a Dennis cross, Daniel Pudil handled in the area and the resulting penalty was calmly despatched by Dennis seven minutes before the interval

Wednesday equalised just five minutes later, however, when Almen Abdi's deflected cross was finished by Hooper at the near post.

The home side then edged ahead In first-half stoppage time when Jack Hunt's cross from the right was met by a thumping far post header from Fletcher.

Chesterfield had chances to level, with Dennis seeing his shot from the edge of the area turned over by Joe Wildsmith and O'Grady hitting the side netting after receiving a great through ball from Gozie Ugwu.

Dennis also had a shot turned wide by Wildsmith after playing a one-two with Dion Donohue before Louis Reed fired wide.

It was the hosts who scored again, however, when Bannan made a strong run through the heart of the defence and produced a fine finish after 75 minutes.

And Hutchinson added a fourth seven minutes from time after bursting into the box and firing past Anyon.
