Shrews continue perfect start to season
Grant Holt preserved Shrewsbury's 100 per cent record with the only goal of the game to defeat Aldershot at the Prostar Stadium.
The former Forest striker got his head to a cross from Ben Davies to glance the ball off the far post and past Nikki Bull.
The goal came after 81 minutes of end-to-end entertaining football, with a host of action at both ends.
Bull did brilliantly to tip over a long-range shot from Marc Tierney and a Hoult header, while Davies also tested the Shots keeper with a fine effort.
John Grant missed a good chance to score 15 minutes from time with just Luke Daniels to beat, but side-footed his shot wide of the far post.
Ben Harding also went close with a header for the visitors but Shrewsbury held firm and are yet to concede a league goal this season.
