Ian Sharps headed the only goal to keep Shrewsbury firmly on course for promotion with a 1-0 victory over Burton.

Shrewsbury were in total control for long stages against the Brewers, who are now without a win in 13 games, but only managed to find the net once. The goal came in the 49th minute when Sharps rose highest to head home an inviting Mark Wright corner. It means Shrewsbury have now gone a club record equalling 26 home games in all competitions unbeaten. Chances were at a premium in a dull first-half although the Shrews always looked the more likely to break the deadlock. Shrewsbury grew increasingly dominant in the second half with James Collins denied by a goalline clearance from Andrew Corbett while Wright was frustrated by an instinctive save from Burton goalkeeper Ross Atkins. Burton rarely threatened, with Calvin Zola heading their only chance wide from a Cleveland Taylor cross.
