A penalty in stoppage time by Grant Holt robbed Dagenham & Redbridge of a deserved point and gave Shrewsbury a 2-1 win. League Two's leading scorers with 68 goals between them scarcely created an opening in an unexciting first half although Holt missed an easy header from six yards. Shrewsbury took the lead five minutes after half-time when Jamie White, on loan from Southampton, scored his first League goal. He started the move and took a return pass from Holt before beating Roberts from 20 yards. Dagenham forced countless corners and Matthew Gilks pushed one from Sam Saunders onto the crossbar but after 78 minutes Saunders equalised with a brilliant 25-yard free kick. In the first minute of stoppage time Danny Foster wrestled substitute David Hibbert to the ground and Holt scored from the spot.
