Padraig Amond grabbed an injury-time equaliser for 10-man Accrington as Stanley earned a 2-2 draw at Southend United.
Jamie Devitt put Stanley ahead after 41 minutes when he latched onto a loose ball on the edge of the box and shot low into the centre of the goal. Luke Prosser levelled the scores in the 65th minute with a powerful shot into the left-hand side of the Stanley goal from 12 yards after Ryan Hall's free kick was only half-cleared. Southend took the lead 11 minutes later through Elliot Benyon's left-footed shot into the top-left corner from close range following a Neil Harris cross from the byline. The assistant referee had flagged for a foul in the build up to the goal and a furious Paul Cook, who has yet to win in seven games in charge of Stanley, was sent to the stands for his protests. Things got worse for the visitors in the 81st minute when Michael Liddle was sent off for serious foul play following a challenge on Anthony Grant but Amond secured a point by heading home from Kevin McIntyre's corner.
