Luke Howell's fifth goal of the season secured Dagenham a 1-0 victory to dent Stevenage's hopes of a play-off place.

But Dagenham's victory was overshadowed by a claim by Stevenage captain Ronnie Henry that opponent Joss Labadie had bitten him.

Stevenage controlled possession for much of the first half, but despite their domination, it was the Daggers who made the best of the early opportunities when Joss Labadie burst into the box and fired the ball into the side netting.

Tom Pett then supplied a fantastic cross for Charlie Lee, but the striker headed narrowly over as Stevenage searched for an opener.

The Daggers went ahead seven minutes into the second half with a controversial goal that took a long period of deliberation between the officials before it was allowed.

Labadie was clearly offside when the ball was played and the linesman raised his flag, but because he did not touch the ball, play continued and Howell stroked in Christian Doidge's cross.

Stevenage pushed for an equaliser, but goalkeeper Mark Cousins denied Bruno Andrade deep into stoppage time.
