Seagulls spoil Wilson's day

Forster nets twice in 2-0 victory for Brighton

Captain Nicky Forster ruined Danny Wilson's first match in charge of Swindon by leading Brighton to a much-needed 2-0 victory. The veteran striker scored goals in each half, the second a penalty, to earn the south-coast strugglers their first League One victory in eight games. Forster finished off a well-worked move in the 43rd minute after Matt Richards passed to Stuart Fleetwood, who put him through. He then doubled Brighton's lead from the spot seven minutes after the restart. The Swindon defence failed to deal with a long clearance by Brighton goalkeeper John Sullivan. Fleetwood was brought down by skipper Michael Timlin and Forster converted the penalty for his 10th goal of the season. It was a disappointing start to Wilson's reign against the club he served as a player. Swindon rarely threatened although Timlin almost surprised Sullivan with a free-kick from out wide in the first half which clipped a post. The result lifts Brighton out of the relegation zone and above Swindon on goal difference.
