      Northampton suffered their first loss in five matches after Swindon romped to a 2-1 victory at the County Ground. With Robins manager Maurice Malpas a man under pressure prior to the game, Swindon were lacking in confidence in the opening 45 minutes as Cobblers threatened to become the latest team to take all three points in Wiltshire. Ryan Gilligan twice went close for the away side before tricky Robins winger Anthony McNamee woke his side up by striking the crossbar with a powerful drive. Swindon subsequently grew in confidence as Northampton were there for the taking and three minutes after the break Simon Cox fed Billy Paynter down the right-hand side for him to drill a low right-foot shot past Frank Fielding. Cox then got in on the act just after the hour mark as Michael Pook's clever clipped delivery was headed back across goal by Shaun Morrison and the former Reading trainee was on hand to finish. But as the clock ticked towards a much-needed victory, Northampton ensured a tense finish when Liam Dolman's deep cross was headed in at the far post by Giles Coke.
