Goals from Scott Cuthbert and Temitope Obadeyi earned Swindon a 2-1 win over 10-man Southend, who remain without a league win this season. Cuthbert converted an Anthony McNamee cross to put the hosts ahead after 21 minutes. The visitors suffered a further setback later in the first-half when Jean Francois Christophe received a second booking for simulation and was sent off. Swindon added a second with 11 minutes remaining as substitute Obadeyi snapped up a loose ball and fired home from 12 yards. Steve Tilson's side pulled a goal back a minute later when Damien Scannell drilled home from the edge of the area. But Swindon held on in the closing stages to record a valuable three points.
